Wild Things and Affiliates Earn Post Season Awards from Frontier League!

Washington, PA – The Washington Wild Things and their affiliates received three post-season awards for the 2016 season according to Frontier League Officials.
Trevor Foss was voted the Frontier League’s Post-Season All-Star Starting Pitcher. The Wisconsin native left Washington on August 3rd when his contract was purchased by the Cleveland Indians’ organization. His Frontier League record includes eight wins and three losses with a 2.50 ERA. During his tenure as a Wild Thing, Foss allowed only 90 hits and 32 runs in over 100 innings on the hill. He struck out 66 batters and allowed only 14 walks.
The Wild Things’ organization was also awarded a Commissioner’s Award of Excellence for its corporate sales effort and in-game entertainment. “The Washington Wild Things receive a Commissioner’s Award of Excellence for their outstanding corporate sales and in-game entertainment,” said Steve Tahsler, the Deputy Commissioner of the Frontier League. “The Wild Things annually lead the Frontier League in corporate sales, and their interaction between the Wild Thing mascot, their fans, PA announcer Bill DiFabio, their on-field emcees, and the video production staff provides the best entertainment in the league.”
Sports Editor, Chris Dugan and the Washington Observer Reporter were also recognized as both the Writer and the Newspaper of the Year for 2016.
