Washington Sends Condra-Bogan to Lincoln Saltdogs for Player to be Named

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Washington Wild Things have announced they have traded right-handed pitcher Jacob Condra-Bogan to the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association for a player to be named.

Condra-Bogan, the unsigned 32nd round pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2017 MLB Amateur Draft, joined the Wild Things late in the 2017 season and was with the team through the end of the season, including the playoffs. The former Georgia Southern and Wofford pitcher appeared in 11 games for the Wild Things and threw a combined 15.1 innings. The 23-year old allowed 10 hits and three runs (two earned) while walking three and punching out 15 batters in those innings. Condra-Bogan had one win and one save as well.

"The opportunity to play in the American Association was something Jacob and his family wanted to explore," said Wild Things' general manager Steven Zavacky. "We appreciate his willingness to join us late in 2017 and his efforts to stabilize our bullpen during the playoffs. We have done multiple deals with the staff in Lincoln in the past, acquiring Frontier League All-Stars Ricky Rodriguez & Chase Cunningham, so there is comfort in [eventually] getting a quality piece in return."

Condra-Bogan is grateful for his time with Washington and is looking forward to his next step.

"I'm so thankful for the opportunity to spend the end of last summer with the Wild Things," said Condra-Bogan. "Even though we came up short with our end goal, I enjoyed every second with my amazing teammates, Banger [Coach Gregg Langbehn], Tony [Buccilli] and the rest of the Wild Things' staff. I have nothing but love for Washington and wish them nothing but great things moving forward!"

Lincoln will send the Wild Things a player at a later date to complete the trade.
